Profile: Greater Phoenix Urban League

The Greater Phoenix Urban has proven steadfast in incorporating professional diversity in the Phoenix area. For more then 60 years, the Greater Phoenix Urban League has strengthened membership, advanced racial equality and enhanced the lives of minorities and the disadvantaged. The Greater Phoenix Urban League dedicates itself to ensuring multiple resources and opportunities for its constituents.

Equal. A rather simple theory really. One is as worthy as another one. Not greater than or less than, but equal. Great in theory. But in reality, not everyone is treated equal. At the Greater Phoenix Urban League, we are doing something to change that.

We bring business leaders and individuals from throughout the Valley together to give everyone the one thing they deserve: An equal opportunity. That's all people are asking for -- an opportunity to succeed. It doesn't matter if they're black or white, man or woman, young or old. Or at least it shouldn't. With the Greater Phoenix Urban League leading the way, it won't. We can say there is something wrong with the system because we're willing to do something about changing the system. Our programs span the entire Valley and focus on making greater Phoenix just that - greater!

Mission Statement: The mission of the Greater Phoenix Urban League is to assist African Americans, other minorities and the disadvantaged in the achievement of social and economic equality. The League implements its mission through advocacy, bridge building, program services and research.
